“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Paul says this just after urging readers to bring their worries to God in prayer, with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6). “Passeth all understanding” means that God’s peace goes beyond what we can fully explain or reason our way into; the verse pictures that peace guarding both heart and mind.
